Today we are privileged to have Prof. Katherine Ognyanova talk to us about her own use of social network analysis in her research. Katya is an Assistant Professor at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. Her research areas include network theory and methodology, social use of technology, mass communication and media effects, civic engagement and political participation, Internet censorship, privacy and digital policy-making. She does work with data science and information visualization.
Prior to joining Rutgers, Katya was a postdoctoral research fellow in computational social science at the Lazer Lab, Northeastern University and IQSS, Harvard University. She received her Ph.D. from the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, University of Southern California.
