Cities and parking – these are two words that, when stringed together, is enough to give somebody who received their fifth parking ticket due to bad instruction a panic attack. Red signs stacked on green signs with a yellow line paved on the side – at some point, you just give up trying to figure out where you can actually park your car.
The city of Los Angeles, of all cities, have finally came up with a solution – a sign that actually works. Instead of clutter, it lists the days of week and label the time that you can park in green (with duration) and when you can’t in red. The city have finally realized that simplicity is sometimes the best answer.
I can’t wait for somebody who is able to digitalize this function and show online whether I can park within a specific neighborhood – that would be a perfect combination of high and low tech.
