Due to the rise of the smart phone, apps have become part of our daily lives. They bring people together through different social media apps such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Apps give people quick and easy access to all sorts of information. These apps include weather, news, sports, and maps. Apps give people the ability to have everything in their lives on a phone. Apps suck up the majority of a person’s time and attention.
It is the hope that in the future, those less fortunate will be able to use apps as a replacement to computers and laptops. Right now, there is a clear leaning toward younger, more affluent males who use apps the most. However, recently the trend has begun to shift towards the less fortunate. Perhaps this is due to the cheaper, more affordable iPhone. Whatever the case may be, these people can hopefully get more access to these smart phones and learn how to use apps as a way to connect to different resources. The information made available on apps could close the educational gap between the more affluent and the poor.
Apps continue to become more and more powerful. As they continue to grow in capacity, people are going to rely on the apps more and more. Whether that be to keep track of daily tasks or to connect to other people, there is no doubt that apps are going to continue to dominate the time and attention of society.
